Stiwdio Maelor was established in July 2014 by Australian artist Veronica Calarco to provide residency opportunities for artists and writers from the UK and other parts of the world.
Stiwdio Maelor aims to offer the selected artists and writers time and space out of their normal life and time to focus on the development of their work and explore the amazing countryside. Artists and writers will enjoy the experience of working alongside artists of different disciplines and at different stages in their career in the beautiful surroundings of the Snowdonia National Park.
This blog hopes to provide an insight to what a residency in Corris can be like, with posts from artists and writers who have experienced a residency at Maelor. Every now and then we’ll post about any news or events happening at Maelor too.
In a nutshell, we love to hear about all the creative and exciting times and work made during artists’ and writers’ residencies at Stiwdio Maelor and will now post about them on this blog.
Our aim is to ask artists when they arrive if they would consider forwarding some material once they’ve finished the residency. So if you are reading this and you are coming on a residency please get in touch when you finish the residency and let us know how it was!
