Welcome to Stiwdio Maelor’s very new blog page! We’ve decided to set up this blog to help offer artists and writers who are considering doing a residency at Maelor an insight to the place and experience.
But anyway, firstly, a Happy New Year from us! 2017 was a busy year and we have found it exciting to welcome a bunch of new artists and writers for 2018.
So a little bit about Stiwdio Maelor if you haven’t heard of us before. We’re an artist and writer in residence programme. We offer residencies starting from one week up to three months. You can find more about Stiwdio Maelor and how to apply on the website here: stiwdiomaelor.wordpress.com
So what we wish to use this blog for… as mentioned this blog has been set up to help offer artists and writers who are considering doing a residency at Maelor an insight to the place and experience. Most of the blog posts you will see will be from the artists and writers who have been here, telling us how they found their residency time, what the surrounding area was like, what they made or did, etc. Every now and then we’ll post about any news or events happening at Maelor too.
In a nutshell, we love to hear about all the creative and exciting times and work made during artists’ and writers’ residencies at Stiwdio Maelor and would like to post about it.
Our aim is to ask artists when they arrive if they would consider forwarding some material once they’ve finished the residency, then this can be an ongoing blog. So if you are reading this and you are coming on a residency please get in touch when you finish the residency and let us know how it was!
We’ve collected posts from artists back from 2014 – 2017 and will post these over the next few months so we can have a insight to what Maelor has been like for artists right from the start. These posts will appear below this blog post as we will put the upload date on the date the artist did the residency. Then from here on, we look forward to posting lots of new and exciting material on what artists and writers get up to at Stiwdio Maelor!
